Beavers are the 77th Bristol’s youngest section of Scouting for 6 to 8 year olds. Beavers is all about trying new things and making new friends. Joining Beavers is just the beginning of your child’s big adventure.
What Beavers Do
Every week, our Beavers section gather in their colony to hop, skip and jump their way through lots of different games and activities – working together in lodges to achieve anything they set their minds to, and having lots of fun along the way.
- Master new skills and try new things
- Have fun and go on adventures
- Make friends
- Are curious about the world around them
- Help others and make a difference, on their own doorsteps and beyond
Beavers’ Uniform
Beavers wear a light blue jumper with their necker on top. When they earn badges, they should be sewn on in the positions shown.
Beavers’ Badges
Beavers can earn a range of exciting badges as part of their development. Here are just a few. For more information please visit the Beavers Activity Badges on the Scout website or check out the Parent Portal (Online Scout Manager) to track your own child’s badges.
Chief Scout’s Bronze Award
This is the highest award a Beaver can earn, and it’s something you work on gradually throughout your whole time in the section. To get your hands on one, you’ll need complete all of the Challenge Awards, as well as any four Activity Badges of your choice (including Staged Activity Badges).
