What Cubs Do

Every week, they gather in their pack to take part in lots of interesting and challenging activities – achieving anything they set their minds to, and having lots of fun along the way, here’s just a few of the things Cubs get up to:

Going on Adventures

Race down a river. Tell stories by torchlight. Fall asleep beneath the stars. Alongside your Pack, you’ll spend plenty of time in the great outdoors.

Learning New Skills

Cubs learn by doing, and so will you. Some of the skills you develop will be practical, like knowing how to cook a delicious meal or give someone first aid. Others will allow you to become a master at your chosen hobby, or help you to succeed in whichever job you decide to do when you grow up.

Helping Others

Cubs work as a team of sixes to help other people. Together, you’ll learn about global issues and what we can all do to help solve them. You’ll also make an impact in your own community.

Cubs’ Uniform

Cub uniform consists of a green sweatshirt with your badges sewn on and a coloured scarf or ‘necker’ to represent your local group. 

Cubs’ Badges

Cubs can earn a range of exciting badges as part of their development. Here are just a few. For more information please visit the Cubs Activity Badges on the Scout website or check out the Parent Portal (Online Scout Manager) to track your own child’s badges.

Chief Scout’s Silver Award

This is the highest award a Cub can earn. To complete it, you need to earn six Activity or Staged Activity Badges of your choice, as well as all seven of the Challenge Awards. The Chief Scout’s Silver Award shows that you’ve given new things a go, played your part, and stuck it out, even when the going got tough.
