Cubs
Cubs is for 8 to 10½ year olds and is where your child starts to develop new skills. Being a Cub opens up a whole other world and is all about growing and learning in small but mighty ways.

Every week, Cubs gather in their pack to take part in lots of interesting and challenging activities, achieving anything they set their minds to and having lots of fun along the way. Here are just a few of the things Cubs get up to.
Going on adventures
Race down a river. Tell stories by torchlight. Fall asleep beneath the stars. Alongside their pack, Cubs spend plenty of time in the great outdoors.
Learning new skills
Cubs learn by doing. Some skills are practical, like cooking a delicious meal or giving first aid. Others help them master a hobby, or succeed in whatever they choose to do when they grow up.
Helping others
Cubs work as a team of sixes to help other people. Together they learn about global issues and what we can all do to help, and make an impact in their own community.
Cubs:

- Help others and make a difference, on their own doorsteps and beyond
Camps and sleepovers
A pack holiday or a weekend camp, often under canvas, plus the group's annual camp. Camps are the part of Scouting children talk about all year.
Cubs' uniform
Cub uniform is a green sweatshirt with badges sewn on, and a coloured scarf or 'necker' to represent the group.

Cubs can earn a range of exciting badges as they grow. Here are just a few. See the full list of Cubs activity badges on the Scouts website, or track your child's badges in the Parent Portal.

Chief Scout's Silver Award
This is the highest award a Cub can earn. To complete it, they need to earn six Activity or Staged Activity Badges of their choice, as well as all seven Challenge Awards.
